Welcome!
As events have kept us apart, we look forward to this week to be finally again all together. We aim to offer a variety of learning, including many styles, to create a great value and plenty of opportunities to have fun and work with each other.
We warmly welcome all those interested in the Alexander Technique from a multitude of backgrounds in the hope that we all may meet, share, and move forward into the future together. The Congress encourages the participation of experienced and new Alexander teachers alike, as well as students on training courses. Alexander Technique pupils, and any other interested people, are also welcome to attend.
This website has information to help you with planning all aspects of your journey to and during your stay at the Congress, including your travel arrangements, food, accommodation, and choosing which workshops and lectures you wish to attend.

Places will be limited according to room size and the nature of the workshop and normally up to 25 people will be able to participate in each CL session.
How-To Sessions
“How To” sessions are new to the Berlin Congress and are daily two hour sessions with teachers who have a deep knowledge on a specific topic so that we can learn how to do things!
How would you like to watch a master teacher giving a first lesson, and then discuss and work with the ideas? Or simply explore two hours of new ideas with an amazing teacher? Or…
Keynote Presentations
Plenary Sessions
These are special presentations form renowned speaker both from outside and inside our AT community – open to all.
They will take place in the Large Auditorium in the Main TU Building, a venue that holds up to 1000 people
Workshops
Workshops are the cornerstone of every Congress. And this time, we will be offering different time lengths of workshops to allow people to always choose something to match their energy level: the Mini workshops (30 minutes), Medium (75 minutes), and if you really want to dive deep into a subject there will be the XL workshops (150 minutes).
With this model we hope to give the opportunity to decide how much free time you want for swaps, chats or resting without missing out on a workshop.
Call for Workshops coming soon…
Stay tuned!
Work-Exchange
Work exchange and single sessions – we have an incredibly beautiful space for exchanging work with other teachers – it’s the “Angel Hall” which you can see on our website and in this this video here. As always, it is open all day for those who want to grab a moment. Tables, chairs and long corridors for walking and other activities will be ready for us. There will be volunteers around there to help you find someone to swap with.
New this time, we’ll also have a rota of teachers who are happy just to give a lesson. So if you don’t need to feel obligated to always work with someone in return, if you’ve had a tough day, jet lag is hitting you hard, or you just want a bit of work, roll in!
Panel Discussions
These panels will offer the opportunity for you to explore in depth different perspectives on these various topics.
In each of these panels, you will not only have the opportunity to hear from these experts but there will be time for discussion and Q & A.
We will publish more info on them as it becomes available
Bob's Corner
Late every afternoon, Bob Britton will host a 30-minute plenary session to provide participants with the latest updates on the program, cover housekeeping issues and administrative information, and highlight the events that have happened through the day and will take place the next day.
But also, and this was very important to us: He will share the stage with different guest teachers every day and give great quick AT impulses and AT insights.
You don’t want to miss this!
Teatime Conversations
Over tea, coffee and biscuits/cookies we meet in special interest groups and talk about a theme close to our hearts, with a lovely moderator and other people who are interested in it.
This is a chance to meet other teachers, share, learn from each other and maybe create something new.
Activities
Morning and Evening Activites
Activities such as Running, Tai Chi and Yoga have been an early morning thing the past few Congresses, and so we are keeping them, of course.
But, what if you are really not a morning person? You’ll see in the timetable that the “activities” have doubled up, and now happen in the morning and the evening!
Open Space
We know from your Survey feedback, and not least from our own personal experience as well, that a week full of events can be a lot to take in and to process. This is why we make it a point this time to schedule a time every day where nothing planned is going on. It is a time and a space that is open to whatever you feel like doing, not-doing or perhaps even non-doing 🙂
Get a coffee, hang out with friends, do a work-exchange, take a walk through Tiergarten or along the Landwehrkanal or the Spree river.
Or just find a quiet place to be alone and re-charge. We will have a couple of rooms designated as “quiet rooms” just for that.
So, in essence, the Open Space belongs to you, every day. You make it whatever you would like it to be.
Public Afternoon / Free Afternoon
Public Events:
Berlin is such a lively and exciting city, full of strong contrasts, beauty, culture, history and progress. We’re right in the middle of it and we’re planning to take advantage of this opportunity, to allow the AT to make an impact on this international location.
Free Afternoon/Sightseeing:
As it is a good Congress tradition, one afternoon (this time Thursday) is off, so you can re-charge and/or do some sightseeing, hang out with friends, do whatever you please
Evening Entertainment
Wie will be offering daily entertainment programs and there will be a Cocktail Bar
